Responses to an opening 1NT

2 ♣ Stayman with a 4-card major and at least 8HCP
2 Jacoby transfer with at least 5 Hearts. Opener rebids 2 , responder passes next time round with less than 8HCP
2 Jacoby transfer with at least 5 Spades. Opener rebids 2 ♠, responder passes next time round with less than 8HCP
2NT Respond 2NT when you have a balanced hand (no singleton) and your HCP, added to the maximum of the opener's range, sums up to just 24
3 ♣ Transfer to 3
3 With a previously passed hand with at least 8HCP, shows a 4-4-1-4 or 4-4-0-5 distribution with the shortness in Diamonds
3 Shows 5 Hearts and at least 15 total points - a slam try with a suit fit. With a previously passed hand with at least 8HCP, shows a 4-1-4-4 or 4-0-4-5 distribution with the shortness in Hearts
3 ♠ Shows 5 Spades and at least 15 total points - a slam try with a suit fit. With a previously passed hand with at least 8HCP, shows a 1-4-4-4 or 0-4-4-5 distribution with the shortness in Spades
3NT Respond 3NT when you have a balanced hand (no singleton) and your HCP, added to the minimum of the opener's range, sums up to at least 24
4 ♣ Gerber if implemented

The Jacoby Minor optional convention

2 ♠ At least 6 Clubs and less than 8 HCP. Opener rebids 3 ♣ and responder passes
At least 6 Clubs, a singleton or void and at least 8 HCP. Opener rebids 3 ♣. Responder shows where the shortage lies by bidding as follows:
  • 3 with a shortage in Spades
  • 3 ♠ with a shortage in Hearts
  • 3NT with a shortage in the other minor
3 ♣ At least 6 Diamonds and less than 8 HCP. Opener rebids 3 and responder passes
At least 6 Diamonds, a singleton or void  and at least 8 HCP. Opener rebids 3 . Responder shows where the shortage lies as for the 2 ♠ bid above
