Pre-emptive Openings

General Requirement

Less than 10 High Card points, except in the case of immediate bids at game level. The following minimum requirements can vary according to the vulnerability, and point counts include length but not distributional points.

4-level Openings

At least 11 points and a 7-card suit.

3-level Openings

At least 10 points and a 7-card suit. At favourable vulnerability, this bid may be made with a 6-card suit when partner has passed.
